Yay!  Next milestone accomplished!  In addition to the walking, I went to the gym and did a bodyweight workout for the first time in a very long time - and I’m beat.  On the bright side, the bodyweight workouts will get easier as my bodyweight goes down, right?  :)

After several days of walking, I will finally hit the next milestone tomorrow.  I’m still ahead of schedule to make it to Lonely Mountain by 12/17.  :)

I didn’t get a chance to go to the gym today (spent the day taking kids to various practices/games), but was still able to get a good walk around the lake we have at work.

I didn’t get my before-work walk in this time (I still have the tail-end of a cold, and walking in 40-degree weather didn’t seem like a good idea).  I’m still on a good pace to make my goal for the month.

I’m doing a little bit more than I need to because I know there are at least 5 days this month where I won’t have much time to walk at all - so I have to get as far ahead of schedule as I can.

New walking goal

According to this page, it’s 967 miles from Bag End to Lonely Mountain, and the final installment of The Hobbit comes out on December 17th.

Can I make it to Lonely Mountain in time to watch the final movie?  I think so.  It’s only 2.75 miles per day.  :)

Weight gain during the holidays is not inevitable, folks.

And because the number on the scale doesn’t tell the entire story, I’m not going to weigh myself every day, or even every week.  I think once a month is a good interval, so my next weigh-in won’t be until 2/1/14.

2014 is going to be the year…

…when I finally get my act together with my health.

The only specific goal I have is to walk at least 750 miles over the course of the year.  And eat better.  :)

I was cleaning up my gmail account and I came across some pictures from about 9 years ago.  I’m not sure how heavy I was in this particular picture, but it’s got to be close to my all-time high of 335.  I think I’ll make it my official “before” picture.
